New species of human discovered in southwest china (red deer cave people)
A group of scientist including Darren Curnoe (University of New South wales in Sydney) and professor Ji Xueping (Yunnan Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology) have discovered a new population( yet to be finalized) of prehistoric human in the southwest china. But it is yet to be confirmed whether they are new species or previously unknown ancestors of modern-day human. These humans are named after the cave they were found.
The characteristics of these species are as follows:
1)They are anatomically unique among all other members of human species.
2) Skulls featuring a mixture of primitive, contemporary and usual features.
3) A broad nose and eye sockets, large molars, a jutting jaw and a prominent brow bone.
Facts about Red Deer Cave Peoples:
1)They lived 14,500 to 11,500 years ago at the end of the ice age during a period of ecological and climate change known for causing the extinction of several animal species, including the giant deer.
2)They survived on cooked deer meat, which became extinct during that time due to climate change.
3)They lived near communities of modern day humans, who at that time were incorporating new forms of farming into their daily life.
4) They interacted with the modern day humans who lived nearby.
Speculations about Red Deer Cave peoples:
1)They could be an early modern human population that migrated early into the area from Africa or they could be new evolutionary line, perhaps even a new species.
2) There is no evidence of farming from the Red Deer Cave people.
The fossils of new species of human discovered was found in two caves of China.
